At the Chicago Auto Show, Don Swearingen, Executive Vice President of Mitsubishi Motors North America, revealed some big news for the Japanese brand. He told us that every 2016 model in the brand’s lineup would get a refresh.
He also told us that the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander would be the first model revealed with its debut scheduled for early April at the New York International Auto Show.
And, according to Autoblog and Mitsubishi’s US PR Manager Alex Fedorak, we may even get the 2016 Outlander PHEV (plug-in hybrid electric vehicle) in showrooms by April 2016. Fedorak says Mitsubishi is “confident in that date.” This is great news considering the original release date was scheduled for sometime in 2014.
In Chicago, we also got to see the GC-PHEV Concept, which could point to the brand’s future design language and the possible return of the Montero. Perhaps we will get to see that amazing front end design on the new Outlander.
What do you hope to see in an updated 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander in New York?
