MitsubishiEffective April 1st, there a new Mitsubishi Motors president is stepping up. Fred Diaz is replacing Ryujiro Kobashi as President and CEO of Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. We at Bell Mitsubishi are thrilled to hear this news and what it means for the company.

Diaz has spent 29 years in the automotive industry, including various roles in customer relations, marketing, and sales. Kobashi will return to Mitsubishi Motors’ headquarters in Tokyo to serve a crucial role in overseas sales. He spent four years at the head of MMNA and played a key role in its recent growth and achievements.

Chief Operating Officer Trevor Mann stated, “The United States is a strategic market for Mitsubishi Motors in our Drive for Growth plan. With his in-depth background and experience in North America, Fred has a strong ability to proactively engage with Mitsubishi Motors’ dealers and customers as we aim to expand our dealership network, enhance our brand, and drive sales growth.”

This exciting announcement comes on the heels of MMNA surpassing a 100,000 sales milestone for 2017 calendar year. Such sales results make Mitsubishi Motors the fastest growing non-luxury brand in the United States thanks, in part, to the release of the all-new Eclipse Cross crossover.

With Diaz as the head of the company and even more new models being released, including the Outlander PHEV, 2018 is set up to be an even better year than 2017.
