Mitsubishi Named OEM of the Year for Innovative App

Mitsubishi Motors North America was named the fastest-growing Asian brand in America for the second year in a row, and it’s easy to see why. At the TU-Automotive Detroit, the world’s largest automotive technology conference, Mitsubishi received “Telematics OEM of the Year” for their new Road Assist+ smartphone application.

Original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) that made notable advancements in smart vehicle connection technology in the last year were pitted against one another for the award, and Mitsubishi’s intelligent solution left the competition in the dust.

Road Assist+ is the first completely hardware-free, vehicle-independent smartphone software from an OEM that uses telematics to show owners how they could save money by changing their driving habits. The App is capable of calculating these figures by taking advantage of usage-based insurances (UBIs).

The system analyzes driving behavior by evaluating UBIs and delivers user-specific tips on how to avoid negative driving patterns like speeding, abrupt braking, or rapid acceleration. The ultimate goal is to increase the overall safety of everybody on the road and to help drivers of Mitsubishi vehicles lower their insurance rates.

As its name would suggest, Road Assist+ provides users with 24-hour emergency roadside assistance. The award-winning application is available for download on the Google Play Store as well as the Apple App Store.

Mitsubishi Motors Ranks Third in 2019 J.D. Power Customer Satisfaction Index

Every aspect of engineering and production at Mitsubishi Motors gears toward customer satisfaction. This commitment to excellence is its own reward, but additional accolades also go a long way. Recently, Mitsubishi ranked third highest in the mass-market vehicle category of J.D. Power Customer Satisfaction Index. This year’s ranking sees Mitsubishi rise seven places from last year’s 10th place finish.

J.D. Power is the largest global marketing information services company. Each year they do thousands of tests across the spectrum of vehicles to determine their rankings. This year’s determinations for Customer Satisfaction are from service customers, who own one- to five-year-old vehicles. The categories evaluated were service initiation, vehicle pick-up, service facility, service quality and service advisor.

Given the results of this prestigious evaluation, it is no surprise why Mitsubishi sales have been on the rise in the United States the past few years. For award-winning customer satisfaction, visit Bell Mitsubishi for your next car purchase.

Mitsubishi 2017 Sales: More Than 100,000 Vehicles Delivered, Five Straight Years of Growth

Mitsubishi 2017 SalesThe fastest-growing non-luxury automotive brand in the United States last year was Mitsubishi, earning the title with a 7.7% increase in sales from 2016 and a grand total of 103,686 vehicles delivered. Mitsubishi 2017 sales also marked five consecutive years that sales have grown year-on-year.

“2017 was a remarkable year for Mitsubishi as we continued our rebuilding effort and posted another year of sales growth. In just five years, Mitsubishi sales have increased nearly 80%, and we’re doing that with fleet sales that are lower than industry average,” said Don Swearingen, executive vice president and chief operating officer, MMNA.

The most key component of Mitsubishi’s success was the Outlander, which benefitted from strong sales momentum throughout the year to finish the year up 32.9% at 35,310 delivered. Helping to polish off the year with a record December was the Outlander Sport, which finished the year up from 2016 at 33,160 delivered.

“Mitsubishi’s CUV lineup posted banner sales, up 15% over 2016. Customer demand for these vehicles is as high as it has ever been due to a combination of style, technology, performance, and value,” Swearingen added.

December also marked the launch of the long-awaited Outlander PHEV, which—combined with the arrival of the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross crossover later this year—should help Mitsubishi net its 6th straight year of growth in America and maintain its title as the fastest-growing non-luxury brand in the United States.

“While we’re excited for the success the brand achieved in 2017, we’re hitting the ground running in 2018 with the launch of two new CUVs,” said Swearingen. “The highly anticipated Outlander Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) just began shipping to our dealers, and the all-new Eclipse Cross will arrive in showrooms in March. These two new vehicles, combined with the Outlander and Outlander Sport will give Mitsubishi a family of CUVs that is unmatched in the industry.”

If Mitsubishi 2017 sales—and sales from the four years prior—are any indication, 2018 should be a banner year for the brand. You can be a part of it by stopping into Bell Mitsubishi to see what makes the 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander, Outlander Sport, and Mirage some of the most fun and functional vehicles on the road today.

2017 Mitsubishi Mirage

Getting a new car can be exciting, but that doesn’t mean it’s not scary either. Thankfully, you don’t have to be scared when leasing a car from Mitsubishi. Mitsubishis are some of the most affordable cars to lease.

Growella is a website that gives advice on money, and part of that is giving advice on great cars. In a study by Growella, they named Mitsubishi to the “Cheapest Cars to Lease” list. This title is important because you shouldn’t have to break the bank to lease a great car.

The Mitsubishi Mirage is at the top of the list, with low depreciation, low insurance rate, and only $79 as the average amount of money spent on gas each month. Including all of this and the average monthly payment, Growella estimated that the Mirage comes in at only $219 per month.

Not only is it affordable, but the Mirage also has great quality. Its estimated mileage is 39 combined mpg, making it the most affordable efficient non-hybrid car in the country. Plus, the Mirage has plenty of technology, like smartphone compatibility and a premium audio system.

Want a great car but an affordable monthly payment? You can have it all with the Mirage! Come check it out today at Bell Mitsubishi.

2017 Mitsubishi Outlander Named IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus

The 2017 Mitsubishi Outlander, Mitsubishi’s popular 7-passenger crossover utility vehicle, has been named an IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus for the fourth year in a row when equipped with the optional Touring Package.

The IIHS, or Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, is a leading auto safety agency that tests vehicles for crashworthiness in various areas, including small overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints. Ratings of “good” in all five tests are required to be named a Top Safety Pick, while a Top Safety Pick Plus has to earn a rating of “advanced” or “superior” for front crash prevention in addition to “good” crash test ratings.

The new Outlander is competitively priced at $23,495 and includes a wide array of safety features like stability control and tire pressure monitoring at the base level, with active safety features like Forward Collision Mitigation and Pedestrian Detection available at the highest SEL trim, which goes for only $29,495—still much less than competitors.

Mitsubishi North America’s executive vice president and COO said in a statement that the company is “committed to safety and providing the best value for our customers” and went on to say that the Outlander’s safety features have been expanded upon even since the 2016 model year. There’s never been a better time to buy a Mitsubishi Outlander, so make sure to check out Bell Mitsubishi for all of your Outlander needs!

Mitsubishi Outlander Awards Showcase 2016 Model’s Quality

The auto industry is a competitive place, especially when it comes to the crossover/SUV segment. Mitsubishi saw this, and the brand knew it had to step up its game. With over one hundred improvements, the 2016 Outlander was a statement to the SUV class that it was ready to get serious, and the plentiful amount of Mitsubishi Outlander awards the vehicle has won showcases the incredible strides Mitsubishi took to make the Outlander great.

Following its launch fall of 2015, the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander immediately won honors such as a placement on Kelley Blue Book’s Best Buy Award Finalist list and an Active Lifestyle Vehicle of the Year Award. The Active Lifestyle Awards named the Outlander the “Best Value on the Road” title, proving the Outlander holds it own against other competitors in the awards program’s test-drive-based judging system.

KBB.com also named the Outlander one of the Most Affordable Three-Row Vehicles of 2016 this past May.

Giving the Mitsubishi Outlander awards shows that not only are buyers loving this affordable alternative to big names on the market, but that professional organizations within the industry are, too. Whether you’re looking for a family-friendly vehicle to drive the kids to soccer practice or you want something that suits an active lifestyle, the 2016 Outlander has your back.
