Visit the ProgStock Music Festival this October

For those looking for a fun fall event, consider the ProgStock Music Festival, which is the only international progressive rock festival in the American Northeast. Held from October 11 to 13 in Rahway, New Jersey at the Union County Performing Arts Center, ProgStock is unmissable for music fans.

According to ProgStock’s official website, you’ll have a chance to see bands such as 3.2 (featuring Robert Berry), Brand X, SAGA, and Nektar. After each show, the groups will break for a fan meet and greet, giving you an opportunity to shake hands with your favorite prog rock artists. Special sets are scheduled every day of the festival, including one each night with Rachel Flowers and a special guest. There are also nighttime performances lasting until as late as 4:00 a.m. if you want to keep the party going after dark.

If you’re planning on attending this year, be sure to get your tickets now. The UCPAC Theater will have single-day passes ($85 on Friday, $115 on Saturday, and $125 for Sunday) as well as a special three-day price of just $225. Tickets usually sell out quickly, so it’s smart to act fast.

ProgStock has also teamed up with Support With Coffee to create a specialty coffee for the event. You can have it ground however you like, and it’s an energizing and tasty way to support the festival.

Join us at Bell Mitsubishi as we congratulate ProgStock on their third year of celebrating international progressive rock artists and fans. Before you head to the festival, make sure your car isn’t due for any seasonal maintenance. If it is, let us help make sure your weekend of music is as safe as it is fun.

Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross Safety: An IIHS Top Safety Pick

The Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross features safety technology in the upper echelon of the automotive industry, and the brand recently took home the award to prove it. The Eclipse earned a Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) in its 2019 tests. The IIHS is an independent, non-profit organization that rates vehicle safety across the industry, basing its findings on a variety of factors.

To earn a Top Safety Pick rating, vehicles must earn “Good” ratings on the driver-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraint tests, as well as an “Acceptable” or “Good” rating in the passenger-side small overlap front test. Mitsubishi notes that the Eclipse Cross scored “Good” in all six crash-test areas.

“We’re focused on engineering safety, quality and reliability into every vehicle we build, which is reflected in the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK recognition for the Eclipse Cross,” said Mark Chaffin, chief operating officer, Mitsubishi Motors North America. “Eclipse Cross continues to impress customers with its distinctive and rugged design, advanced connectivity features and available active safety equipment that current drivers desire in the popular compact SUV segment.”

Safety features on the new Eclipse Cross include Brake Assist, Daytime Running Lights, and Electronic Stability Control. Available systems such as a Multi-View Camera System, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Mitigation, and Blind Spot Monitoring also add to the SUV’s award-winning suite of safety technology.

You’ll enjoy the peace of mind offered by the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross when you take one for a spin at Bell Mitsubishi.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Rumored to Return

Starting in 1992, Mitsubishi produced a dynamic sports sedan called the Lancer Evolution, but the popular model was discontinued in 2017 when the automaker decided to focus their business on SUVs, hybrids, and electric vehicles rather than sports. But plans may be changing.

Information from Japan-based sources has revealed that Mitsubishi may be resurrecting the Lancer Evolution in the near future. The most recent iteration of the sedan was called the Lancer Evolution X, so for the time being, the rumored comeback car is known by the name Lancer Evolution XI.

If the Lancer does return to production, its design will likely build on Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi’s MF-C/D F4 platform. The sport sedan’s previous renditions featured 2.0L turbo engines capable of producing up to 303 horsepower, so it stands to reason that the Evolution XI will have similar power, especially since the comparable Renault Megane RS houses similar hardware. The new model will also offer both manual and automatic transmissions as well as standard All-Wheel Drive.

Despite having been discontinued, the Lancer remains a popular choice for drivers in China. Its continued presence in Asian markets may be a contributing factor in Mitsubishi’s planned resurrection of the sport sedan.

Speculation names Osamu Masuko, chairman and former CEO of Mitsubishi, as a supporter of the vehicle’s return. Currently there’s little to go on other than speculation, but experts seem confident that reviving the performance-focused segment of the Mitsubishi lineup would be a smart move for the automaker. For the time being, all we can do is wait and see.

In the meantime, get up to speed with all of the currently available Mitsubishi vehicles at Bell Mitsubishi.

What Will the Upcoming Mitsubishi Models Be Named?

With its star on the rise across the United States, Mitsubishi has steadily been introducing new models to the market with no plans to slow down. The automaker could come up with entirely new titles for these new cars, but there is also the chance it could reach back into the record book to reinstate some well-loved defunct nameplates.

So, what will the names of upcoming Mitsubishi models be? Here are a few possibilities:

Lancer

Originally released in 1973, the Mitsubishi Lancer was retired in 2017. The Lancer was responsible for many fond on-the-road memories for countless American drivers, so there’s a good chance we see that name gracing a Mitsubishi model in the future.

Starion

The Mistubishi Starion was a sporty tourer sold in the ’80s and early ’90s. It’s possible Mitsubishi will play on people’s nostalgia and love of the Neon Decade by reintroducing the Starion nameplate.

Raider

With whispers of a new Mitsubishi pickup making their way through the industry rumor mill, there’s a high probability that any new truck Mitsubishi puts out will again bear the strong name of “Raider,” which was a pickup model sold by Mitsubishi in the U.S. from 2005 to 2010.

New Design for the 2020 Outlander Sport

The Mitsubishi brand is always looking to the future. The compact Mitsubishi Outlander Sport will be one of the first models to wear the brand’s new design language. The design for the 2020 Outlander Sport features a bold new grille, a flatter hood, and new headlights.

Updates continue inside with improvements in the materials throughout the cabin. These include better seat upholstery, new climate control knobs that are easier to grip, a black headliner, and a new 8-inch touchscreen system.

Nate Berg, director of product planning for Mitsubishi Motors North America, said to CNET, “Design will be a key strategic thing moving forward for Mitsubishi Motors. We will continue to focus on refining our design.”

Many of the new design features we see in the Outlander Sport debuted in the Engelberg Tourer concept we saw at earlier car shows. This design language gives the Mitsubishi brand a more rugged persona.

Under the hood, the Outlander Sport remains the same with a standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 148 horsepower and 145 lb-ft of torque. Buyers will also be able to choose from a variety of available active safety features, including automatic high beams, blind-spot monitoring, and automatic emergency braking.

While we anticipate its release, test-drive the 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport in Rahway, NJ, at Bell Mitsubishi.
